into Sarabhai Chemicals, S G Pharmaceuticals, Sarabhai M Chemicals,
Standard Chemicals
and Synbiotics. Production of the group accounted for about 8% of total
production
of drugs & Pharmaceutical in India.
The journey of Sarabhai Chemicals in Oncology started since 1970
promoting Oncology
Products of Bristol Mayer Squibb first time in India like Hydrea
(Hydroxyurea) useful
in the treatment of CML.
In 1997, Sarabhai Chemicals tied up with Chiron Biopharma of USA for
their two biotech
research products namely Proleukin (IL2) for MRCC & Cardioxane
(Dexrazoxane) for
Chemotherapy induced Cardio toxicity. These niche molecules were again
first time
in India launched by Sarabhai. Moreover Paxtal our own brand of
Paclitaxel was also
among the 1st few brands in India.
In late 2005, a Separate Oncology Division was carved & created to
cover entire
India. The Oncology Division thus enters with more baskets of products
in the segment
of Hematology, Solid Tumor & supportive segments.
Sarabhai Oncology currently covers 300 Medical Oncologists, 100
Hematologists and
300 Radiation Oncologists. Our products are approved in all the leading
major Institution
like Tata Hospital, Defense, Railways, and CGHS etc.
In 2012, Sarabhai Chemicals spreads it’s wings to fly for new
destinations in different
specialties like Infertility, Critical care and Dermatology &
Cosmetology.
Today Sarabhai Chemicals is operating across the country with a trained
field force
of 50 people and planning to expand up to 200 by the end of this year
2013.
- SG Pharmaceuticals started in collaboration with J R Geigy of Switzerland.
- Sarabhai M Chemicals was pioneer in the manufacture of Vitamin-C in collaboration with E Merck of West Germany.
- Standard Pharmaceuticals was a leading manufacturer of penicillin.
- Synbiotics is the largest antibiotic manufacturing complex in India in the Pvt. Sector in collaboration with E R Squibb of USA.
- SARABHAI CHEMICALS was the biggest manufacturers of Amphotericin, Streptomycin Sulphate and Tetracycline HCL.
- SARABHAI CHEMICALS introduced highly purified insulin injections manufactured under technical collaboration with Biobras of Brazil which received enthusiastic response from the medical profession.
- The full range of highly purified procine insulin launched and manufacturing started for human insulin products.
- An oral formulation `Contramal' manufactured in collaboration with Grunenthal of Germany was launched for first time in India.

Sarabhai Chemicals is operating its business network in across the country with 50 executives head quartered in various places from Srinagar to Trivandrum and Ahmedabad to Kolkata.

Mr. Kartikeya V Sarabhai – Chairman
Mr. Sarabhai has done his postgraduate studies at MIT –USA. He has a long
association
with the Sarabhai Business and Pharmaceutical sector. He has been a member
of the
board and appointed as a chairman in ASE.
He is also involved in a number of policies initiated by the Government of
India
particularly in the environmental and educational fields. He is a Director
in CEE
(Centre for Environmental Education).
Mr. Mohal K. Sarabhai - Director
Mr. Sarabhai is a Mechanical Engineer from the University of WISCONSIN
-Madison
who started his career as an Engineer in the field of biomechanics residing
in USA
. He has been actively associated with the pharmaceutical industry since the
last
15 years, having worked in India and in International markets. He has been
associated
with ASENCE Inc, USA since its inception in 2003 and currently is the
President,
CEO and Director of ASENCE, USA and ASENCE Pharma Pvt. Ltd, India. He is
also managing
director of Synbiotics Limited.
Mr. Harshkant Udani
Mr. Harshkant is the Director of Senaru Formulations Private Limited. He
holds a
Bachelors degree in Commerce as well as a Bachelors degree in Law (LLB). He
joined
Karamchand Premchand Private Limited in 1966 and since then has been
associated
with the Sarabhai Group.
